Available Summer Internships 2021

Finding a job can be a challenge, especially if you don’t have experience. Unfortunately, you need to obtain a job before you can gain experience. Whether you are a high-schooler, undergrad or postgrad, you will find something suitable for you in this article.

Excel, Explore, Experience!

Why should I apply for internships?

Gain valuable work experience
The hands-on work experience interns receive is invaluable and cannot be obtained in a classroom setting, making this one of the most important benefits of internships. In addition to learning the specialized skills of a particular field, transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, and computer proficiency are also obtained in an internship, fully preparing interns to enter the workforce upon graduation.

Explore a career path
Exploring is an important part of the college experience, and internships are a great way for students to discover their true passion. By graduation, students who interned are more likely to feel confident they chose the right degree.

More likely to be accepted
Many companies use internships as a way to enhance their recruitment efforts. In some cases, a company may decide to hire an intern at the end of the assignment. And if you are still a school student, internship certificates will add to your application a lot.

How to get the best out of the internship?

Get to know your co-workers

Check with your supervisor to learn about ways you can interact with your new colleagues. That might include short video calls to introduce yourself. Regardless of the format, an internship is a great way to learn from others and their work experiences. Find out more about their career paths and what they do in their roles, and ask for advice on your own career options.

Be a go-getter

Taking initiative is a skill that many employers desire in their employees. Focus on how you can excel at tasks that are within your abilities. This includes

  • Managing and completing tasks before deadlines
  • Volunteering to take on extra work
  • Seeking answers before asking your supervisor
  • Proposing a project idea to your supervisor

Ask for feedback

While employers don’t expect perfection from interns, they do want to see that you’re learning and improving. Use your internship as an opportunity to understand your strengths and weaknesses.
