The biggest night in fashion celebrated old Hollywood glamour where many Hollywood stars showcased amazing looks on the red carpet. This year’s theme centers around the “Gilded Age”.
The theme is actually a continuation of last year’s Met Gala that was titled “In America: A Lexicon in Fashion,”which looked at modern fashion in the U.S. But this year’s “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” looks at the historical fashion in the Met’s American Wing. The dress code itself is “gilded glamour, white tie.”Combined with the museum exhibit featuring men’s and women’s dresses dating from the eighteenth century to the present.
So now that you understand the background of this year’s theme, let’s take a look at
our favorite 5 picks from women’s looks this year:
1. Blake Lively
Dressed in Atelier Versace, Blake had our jaws drop by her gown, which was then unwrapped on the steps of the Met to reveal another underneath. 2. Laura Harrier
Laura Harrier looked absolutely stunning in her custom-made, hand-stitched slate-grey H&M gown, which was created in collaboration with the famous designer Victor Glemaud. And for the jewelry, Harrier and her stylist, Danielle Nachmani decided to accessorize her look with jewelry from David Yurman.
