As the preparations for Tokyo 2020 – which is scheduled to be held from July 23rd till August 8th- are in progress, we brought you a list of young, aspiring Arab athletes who are taking part in the thirty-second Olympic Games.
Hend Zaza, Syria
Hend Zaza is a 12-year-old Syrian table tennis player who’s going to Tokyo 2020 and she will be the youngest person to compete in Olympic table tennis, and the fifth-youngest person to compete in the modern Olympics.
Hana Goda, Egypt
Hana Goda is a 13-year-old Egyptian table tennis national team player, who’s taking part in Tokyo 2020. She’s the youngest athlete to participate in the Olympic games in Egypt’s history.
Maryam Maghraby
Maryam Abdalla, a 16-year-old Egyptian athlete, is competing in the 2020 for artistic swimming.
It’s worth mentioning that the olympics will be Maryam’s first senior international competition, and she’s the youngest artistic swimmer in Tokyo 2020.
Her teammates are: Shahd Abdallah, Nora Azmy, Hanna Hiekal, Laila Mohsen, Farida Radwan, Nihal Saafan, Jayda Sharaf .
Lara Dashti, Kuwait
Lara Dashti is a 17-year-old Kuwaiti national team swimmer participating in Tokyo 2020.
Dania Nour, Palestine
Dania Nour is a 17-year-old Palestinian swimmer who’s participating in Tokyo 2020.
Mark Munzer Kabbara, Lebanon
Kabbara is an 18-year-old Lebanese swimmer who’s taking part in the upcoming Olympic games.
Mahmoud AL-Ahmeed, Saudi Arabia
Al-Ahmeed is a Saudi weightlifter, who’s competing in the 73 kg division and he marks the 7th Saudi individual athlete who qualifies for Tokyo olympics, besides the under-23 national football team.
