Summer is just around the corner, and with it, comes plenty of new movies and TV shows that are sure to entertain viewers of all ages and interests. From action to heartwarming drama, there’s something for everyone this summer.
So here are all the releases you need to keep an eye on for one epic summer watchlist:
Netflix
Netflix is serving this season with 5 movies that will enrich your summer watchlist.
- Black Knight –Coming on May 12th
A series featuring a dystopian future devastated by air pollution and the survival of humanity depends on the Black Knights, starring Kim Woo-bin.
- The Mother –Coming May 12th
Starring the beautiful Jennifer Lopez and directed by Niki Caro, which tells the story of a military-trained assassin that comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she has never met from ruthless criminals gunning for revenge.
- The Journey -Coming May 18th
Which is an animated movie that is set in Mecca in the year of the elephant and is based on an Islamic legend. Directed by: Kobun Shizuno
- XO, Kitty –Coming May 18th
The series is a spin-off of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before film series, it features Kitty Covey going on her own journey to find love.
- Fubar –Coming May 25th
Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger the series tells the story of a father and a daughter discovering they both work for the CIA so a mission turns into a family affair.
- Bird Box: Barcelona –Coming July 14th
The famous horror movie Bird Box is coming with a new edition as Bird Box: Barcelona, with an entirely new cast the famous storyline continues.
Shahid
Thanks to Shahid, the summer of 2023 is shaping up to be an exciting one, with a lineup of comedies, musicals, and dramas sure to keep us entertained and laughing all throughout our new Shahid summer watchlist!
- Leeh La? –To be released soon
The third season of the famous series will be released soon on Shahid. And as expected the series will be starring a great cast featuring Nelly Karim, Salah Abdullah, Ayda Ryad, Ahmed Tarek, Moataz Hashem and Nadiene. This season will discuss why a son often rejects the idea of his mother remarrying after divorce but accepts when his father does. Of course, a great performance by Nelly Karim is to be expected, and when that is accompanied by a good plot, you must add this series to your summer watchlist.
- El Le3ba -Released
The fourth season of the loved comedy series will be released soon on Shahid to keep us laughing this summer!
- Safah El Giza –To be released soon
A new series will be released soon on Shahid, the series tells the real story of a butcher that was in Egypt called Gaddafi Faraj Abdel-Ati, known as The Butcher of Giza. He is an Egyptian serial killer and fraudster who murdered four people from 2015 to 2017 in Giza and Alexandria. The butcher role is played by Ahmed Fahmy and the series is directed by Hady Al Bagory. If you are a fan of thrillers and documentary series, then this is a must-added series for your summer watchlist.
- Sukkar -To be released soon
Finally coming soon on Shahid the first musical in Egypt which is also one of Shahid’s original works “Sukkar” which is a musical based on the famous American novel Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster. The musical will be starring Magda Zaki, Hala Turk, and Reham Alshenhawy.

- The Idol -Coming June 4th
The upcoming American television series, created by the famous singer Abel “The Weeknd” revolves around a young woman (Lily-Rose Depp) who dreams of becoming a pop star. The plot delves into her intricate relationship with a leader of a self-help group and a cult (Tesfaye).
Other actors in the series include: Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Eli Roth, and Rachel Sennott, who play supporting roles. This is definitely to be added to your summer watchlist.
- Succession -Coming May 21st
The fourth and final season to continue the drama of the Roy family and excitingly watch the final episodes!
- Rick and Morty 6 -Coming September 4th
The adult animated television series will be premiering on HBO; It is the final season to feature Roiland providing any voice work and is also the final season to be produced by Justin Roiland’s Solo Vanity Card Productions. If you are a Rick and Morty fan, hurry up, sign up for HBO, and add this to your summer watchlist.

On Disney+ is the animation short film series with the music of the Egyptian Amir Hedayah
- The Muppets Mayhem –Coming May 10th
The Muppets Mayhem is a comedy musical series based on the Muppet musical group, the series stars the beautiful YouTuber Lilly Singh, Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudry, and Anders Holm.
- Crater -Coming May 12th
The movie is a new American coming-of-age movie, set in a science fiction adventurous world. It tells the story of a young boy growing up in a lunar mining colony who takes a trip to explore a legendary crater after his father’s death, along with his four best friends.
Directed by: Kyle Patrick Alvarez, and based on a story by Griffin and Rpin Suwannath. The talented cast includes Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Mckenna Grace, Billy Barratt, Orson Hong, Thomas Boyce, and Scott Mescudi, making it a movie to look out for!
- AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER -Debuting June 7th
The wait is almost over! After a historic theatrical run, James Cameron’s global phenomenon “Avatar: The Way of Water” will debut June 7th on Disney+ and will include bonus content featuring filmmakers, cast and crew. Produced by Cameron and his longtime partner Jon Landau, the 20th Century Studios-Lightstorm Entertainment production stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis and Kate Winslet. Would be another great addition to your summer watchlist if you’re a fan of the franchise!
- Secret Invasion -Coming June 21st
Secret Invasion is a miniseries based on the Marvel Comics storyline of the same name, created by Kyle Bradstreet.
- Ahsoka -Coming August 2023
Ahsoka is an upcoming American movie. The movie is a new addition to the Star Wars franchise and is a spin-off of the popular series The Mandalorian. The events in this series occur during the same time period as The Mandalorian and its other related spin-offs, following the events of Return of the Jedi (1983). Additionally, it also serves as a continuation of the animated series Star Wars Rebels, developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for Disney+.
