As we all know, the Gouna Film Festival started a few days ago. It was filled with our favorite stars as always, Yousra, Hend Sabri and Mona Zaki were just a few of the big names that attended. Aside from the photo sessions and the stunning looks, let’s talk trailers and movies that are being shown.
If you haven’t heard, a few competitions are being held right now. Feature Narrative, Feature Documentary and Short Film competitions are just a few of the ones going on as we speak. The winners will be declared by the jury, and will be publicly announced on Friday, October 22nd.
Meanwhile, if you are in Gouna during this time, definitely head over and watch some of the participating movies. If you are new to this whole thing, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. Here’s a list of some of the films that are playing over there:
1. Feathers (Egyptian)

2. The Double Life of Véronique (French/Polish)
Directed by: Krzysztof Kieślowski; Starring Kalina Jeusik, Helina Gryglaszewska, and Irene Jacob.
3. Sabaya (Swedish)
Screening: Oct. 18, C Cinema 2 at 6:15PM and Oct. 19, C Cinema 2 at 12:15PM
Directed by: Hogir Hirori
4. Night (German/Jordanian/Palastinian)
Screening: Oct. 19, TUB Audi Max at 9:30PM
Short Movie Directed by: Ahmad Saleh; Starring Hiam Abbass, Rafia Aridi, and Salma Saleh.
5. Katia (Russian)
Screening: Oct. 20, TUB Audi Max at 6:15PM and Oct. 21, TUB Audi Max at 3:30PM
Directed By: Andrey Natotsinsky; Starring Tatiana Ryabokon, Victoria Sobol, and Levon Avakyan.
