BODY POSITIVITY

Quick reminder for the girls and the boys: You are beautiful!

Don’t let the ‘beauty standards’ put in place by individuals that use human bodies for marketing, define your worth. They are unrealistic and non inclusive. They forget to include all beautiful imperfections such as stretch marks, acne, cellulite, body hair, rolls and more. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t just as pretty. And they are normal! Let me assure you that everyone struggles with some kind of imperfection.

Do you ever just walk around or scroll through social media and be like “wow! They’re so pretty! I wish I could look like them”? Mind you, they also deal with insecurities. Still, you think they are beautiful. The same applies to you. Your insecurities don’t define your beauty. I promise you that there’s at least 20 people out there that called you beautiful and meant it. Me included!

Another reminder, body shaming isn’t limited to ‘fat-shaming’. Telling people ‘ I will never eat again’ or ‘there goes my appetite’ is not a compliment. Telling people they are (TW) anorexic just because they are skinny is not nice. On the other hand, calling people unhealthy simply for having some meat on their bones is also unkind. Or commenting things such as ‘you’re brave for wearing that in public’ is rude. You can dislike, but you may not hate. You cannot disrespect or degrade someone because they don’t fit your ‘type’. Speaking of types, you can say my type is someone who has a healthy and fit body, but saying ‘to be beautiful you need to be skinny’ is simply false and unacceptable. This applies for both girls and boys. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, and if they’re not fit to your definition of beauty, doesn’t make them any less beautiful for the universal definition of the term.

We are all beautiful. Thank God everyday for a healthy and functional body, for blessing our souls in a beautiful exterior, no matter how imperfect it is. Just think of all the things your body has done for you.

All bodies are crop top bodies, all bodies are bikini bodies, all bodies are beautiful. And like that tik tok sound said: “ Your body is a temple”. So worship it, take care of it and most importantly love it.

Have a good day or night! <3
