Backstreet Boys’ Spotify Streams Surge in UAE Ahead of May performance

Backstreet Boys will play live in the UAE for the first time in 5 years.

Last Year, Backstreet Boys announced the return of their eleventh concert tour after a massive delay due to Covid. The tour is in honor of their tenth album, DNA, where they would play over 150 concerts globally.

Following their vibrant performance in Cairo, they will be on stage again in Abu Dhabi, UAE on May 7th. The band’s Spotify streams jumped by approximately 110% and their music was searched for by 445% in the moments following the announcement of their UAE concert date.

Although the band’s last performance was back in 2018, their fans’ love for their music remains solid. Everyone seems to be extremely excited and getting ready to listen to their hits again. With a play surge of over 358%, Spotify’s playlist “This Is Backstreet Boy” is regaining popularity throughout the UAE.


The band’s biggest hit is “I want it that way,” with almost 1.2 billion views on YouTube and 1.1 billion streams on Spotify. The song was released 24 years ago, and with no doubt, it comes first among the most played songs in the UAE, followed by “As Long As You Love Me,” “Shape of My Heart,” “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)”, and “Quit Playing Games (with my heart)”.

Over the years, The BackStreet Boys have continued to be among the most popular bands. Their 30th anniversary in April will be a significant milestone in comparison to other bands these days.
