It’s that time of the year again. The holy month of Ramadan is just behind the corner and with the holy month approaching the preparations for this long but joyful month are costly. For most it is a month that many await with pure joy and excitement, but unfortunately that is not the case for all. Some people are not as fortunate and are not as prepared for this month especially with the current pandemic happening. So today we’ll be discussing ways you can help people who are less fortunate to make their Ramadan better.
During Ramadan donations/giving to charities and people in need is more frequent as you are rewarded more for such actions during the holy month. You can yourself help people who are less fortunate and in need financially through direct donations to organizations such as Egypt food bank. You can also directly help these people by directly providing iftar meals, Ramadan boxes which contain the essentials needed for the month and “موائد الرحمن” though they are limited due to the pandemic and current conditions.
You can help others by doing the physical work yourself. Simply you can choose to wrap, collect, and purchase all the essentials for Ramadan bags. Physical work is important in this process as the financial help is meaningless if physical help is not provided usually people tend to stick to financial help and let organizations who are catered for such causes take care of all the physical work. There is also the part where you actually deliver the meals, boxes or whatever you choose/are capable of helping with put into consideration you are getting rewarded for the physical effort you do and if you do deliver the meals while fasting you gain greater rewards as you are doing such efforts under the rough conditions of fasting.
If you are incapable of doing any of the above ways there are always smaller things you can do that will have as big of a value when it comes to helping people, in terms of spreading happiness and ensuring people enjoy the joyful month of Ramadan properly. People with jobs such as teachers or doctors can choose to provide free service during Ramadan to help those in need. You can go to your local Mosque and give them dates and water especially after they
pray Maghrib. These little things might not seem of as much significance but all actions of
kindness are very much of value and huge value.
To show a wonderful example of this a group of 42 local teenagers aged 15-17 are trying to help around 2000 people this Ramadan by providing them with Ramadan bags to show how challenging this is they only have 35 days to collect the required donations.
