Imane Khelif’s Backlash: Astounding Victory Uncovers Freedom’s Situational Irony

Confused because of the controversy over Imane Khelif’s victory in Paris Olympics 2024? let me tell you a funny story!

It’s the first of August in 2024 after many fighting and revolutions for LGBTQ’s rights, especially in western society. You’re now about to watch a boxing match between two women in Paris Olympics, in the country that proudly brags about the freedom of their LGBTQ community in the opening ceremony of the olympics itself. Very ordinary scene in the olympics right? one wins and one loses, so why the huge controversy?

One of the two women is cisgender from Algeria, in which sex change or homosexuality is a crime! She is born a woman and legally a woman. However, she has a high level of testosterone, and some say she is an XY chromosome female. As always happens, the Arab girl fights for her dreams and faces her father. She can really has an awesome story for a Netflix’ movie, right?

Yes, untill..she plays against an Italian woman in the Olympics and achieves an amazing victory in just 46 seconds! Amazing victory, isn’t it? “No”, answer JK Rowling, Elon Mask, and some contradicted western characters. Yes, they are the same people who called for queer rights, transgender, and many other labels.

Imane is that one we talk about, and she is in a category of LGBTQ that makes her one of the most people who need their rights because her problem is physical not just by choice like in most cases, but she defeated a western woman, so let’s blame it on how she is masculine, can defeat any girl, and should face men instead! Let’s also say also that she is misogynist when she smiles celebrating her victory!

The other woman is Angela Carini, white Italian woman who has natural feminine face and body shape. Like all Olympians, she also has an inspiring story, but she gets defeated by Imane and cries, ordinary scene for the defeated part in the Olympics?

The backlash about Imane’s victory was huge after this match. A huge controversy between supporters of Imane to identify herself as a woman because she was born a woman and legally a woman, and people against her because of her high testosterone level and her masculine shape.

The controversy grabs the attention to a very important question about the truth of identity freedom. An ironic comparison is portrayed between the celebrations of the LGBTQ in the opening ceremony of Paris Olympics and the violent accusations to Imane for being a man, but the real question is would Imane face such backlash if she was white or faced a non-white competitor, especially that the masculine shape of women who play combative sports isn’t something weird? Not likely to happen..

It’s just the stereotypical scene the western media always loves to portray. The barbarian man hits the innocent attractive white woman. The crocodile tears of Angela Carini and withdrawl to make Imane look like not equal to her is also wild and proves that the mentality of making everything looks like the barbarian man and the white girl is still present even if there is no man in the story!

Another ironic situation happened recently highlights the hypocrisy. Kamala Harris has been just accused by Trump of not being a true black woman. Her many defenders stated how it’s unacceptable to tell people who they are, so what’s the difference now?

The Olympian Committee Speaker, Mark Adams has noted that all women participating in the Olympics are chosen based on the eligibility criteria, and the two players faced each other various times, previously, so is it the light that circles the hate and hypocrisy behind the ironic ceremony, or is it a prove of Orwell’s animals’ equality quote?
